- Consumer Choices Option in HCBS waivers allows the purchase of transportation services including from natural supports, to ensure community participation for work, recreation, and social reasons.

- Under a grant from the Federal Transit Administration transportation reauthorization legislation, Iowa Department of Transportation began a statewide community planning effort in 2006; local stakeholders and consumers will be able to provide input on local transportation needs at regional workshops, explore opportunities for collaboration, and make recommendations for statewide planning.
